Foreign Secretary briefs diplomats on regional situation post-Pahalgam attack

Date:

ISLAMABAD, Thursday, April 24, 2025 : Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch on Thursday briefed Islamabad-based heads of mission and diplomats on the evolving regional situation in the aftermath of the recent attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

During the briefing, the Foreign Secretary shared key takeaways from the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting held earlier this week. She categorically rejected what she described as a “misinformation campaign” launched by India against Pakistan, terming it an attempt to divert attention and obstruct efforts towards peace and stability in South Asia.

“Pakistan has consistently rejected terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” she emphasized, reiterating Islamabad’s commitment to regional peace.

Baloch also cautioned against what she called Indian attempts to escalate tensions and reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to respond decisively to any misadventure.

The diplomatic engagement comes amid heightened regional tensions following the Pahalgam incident, which has drawn sharp international focus.
