Pakistan has evidence of Afghan, Indian involvement in terrorism: DG ISPR

Date:

ISLAMABAD, Friday, September 19, 2025 : Pakistan has credible evidence of illegal Afghan nationals’ involvement in terrorism and other serious crimes inside the country, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said.

In an interview with a German magazine, the DG ISPR noted that Pakistan had hosted millions of Afghan refugees for over four decades but emphasized that conditions that once justified their stay — including foreign interference and civil war — no longer exist. He said Pakistan had made comprehensive arrangements for their dignified return, extending deadlines for repatriation several times on humanitarian grounds.

Lt Gen Sharif added that U.S. weapons abandoned in Afghanistan after the American withdrawal were now being used in terrorist attacks in Pakistan, a concern also raised by Washington.

Turning to regional issues, he said India’s extremist policies were fueling violent incidents within its own borders. He accused New Delhi of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan, pointing to credible evidence of serving Indian army officers’ involvement, which Islamabad has repeatedly shared with the international community.

On Kashmir, the DG ISPR urged the global community to play its role in resolving the long-standing dispute, reiterating Pakistan’s rejection of all non-state actors. “There is no room for armed groups in Pakistan, and no individual or group has the authority to declare jihad,” he stressed.

He underlined Pakistan’s frontline role in the global war on terror, noting the immense sacrifices made by the country. He also revealed that several terrorists killed in Balochistan had been falsely included in the list of so-called missing persons.

Lt Gen Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s constructive and strategic relations with China and welcomed the U.S. decision to designate the banned Majid Brigade as a global terrorist organization.
