UN Women Pakistan highlights gender inequality, calls for inclusive rights

Date:

ISLAMABAD: UN Women Pakistan has shared an insightful video highlighting the challenges faced by gender minorities, underscoring the urgent need to address discrimination and social exclusion.

The organization noted that gender minorities often experience higher levels of discrimination and violence due to deeply rooted harmful social norms.

According to the message, many individuals are denied access to essential services such as healthcare, education, employment, political participation, and inheritance rights solely based on their identity.

Terming equality “non-negotiable,” UN Women Pakistan called for collective efforts to promote inclusion, protect fundamental rights, and ensure equal opportunities for all segments of society.

The awareness message forms part of ongoing efforts to foster a more inclusive and equitable environment in Pakistan, emphasizing dignity and rights for every individual.
