Prime Minister, Chinese envoy reaffirm Pakistan-China strategic partnership

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s enduring commitment to the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong at the Prime Minister’s House.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr. Syed Tauqir Shah, and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, reaffirming the deep-rooted friendship between the two countries.

The prime minister fondly recalled his visit to China in May this year and underscored Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with Beijing to implement the important decisions and agreements reached by the leadership of both countries for the mutual benefit of their peoples.

The two sides also exchanged views on the evolving regional situation, including developments in the Middle East, Afghanistan, and South Asia, reaffirming the importance of close consultation and coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked the prime minister for receiving him and reiterated China’s longstanding commitment to its “iron brother” Pakistan.

He affirmed that China would continue to extend its full support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while further strengthening cooperation to promote the country’s socio-economic development.

The meeting reflected the shared resolve of Islamabad and Beijing to further deepen their strategic partnership, expand practical cooperation across multiple sectors, and continue close coordination in pursuit of regional peace, stability, and sustainable development.
