ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, during which the two leaders exchanged views on key regional and international developments and reaffirmed their commitment to close diplomatic coordination.
During the conversation, the two foreign ministers reviewed the evolving situation in the Middle East, with particular focus on recent developments in the Red Sea and the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait, underscoring the importance of regional stability and maritime security.
They also discussed the grave humanitarian and political situation in Palestine, particularly East Jerusalem, and welcomed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to deliberate on the deteriorating situation and coordinate a collective response.
The two sides reaffirmed the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and agreed to remain in close contact on matters of mutual interest and regional significance.
The conversation reflected the continued consultations between Islamabad and Riyadh on regional peace, security and developments affecting the wider Muslim world.
