ISLAMABAD: France’s newly appointed Ambassador to Pakistan, Jean-Noël Poirier, has expressed his commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between France and Pakistan, pledging to take the longstanding partnership between the two countries to new heights during his three-year diplomatic mission.

In a welcome message recorded from a scenic vantage point in Islamabad’s Margalla Hills, the newly arrived ambassador offered a panoramic view of Pakistan’s federal capital while introducing himself to the Pakistani public and sharing his vision for his tenure.

“We are up here, looking over Islamabad city, capital of Pakistan. My name is Jean-Noël Poirier. I am the new Ambassador of France to Pakistan, and my mission in the coming three years will be to develop our bilateral relationship to new heights, like this wonderful place here this morning,” he said.

The ambassador’s message, delivered against the picturesque backdrop of Islamabad, highlighted his enthusiasm for his new assignment and his intention to build on the existing relationship between France and Pakistan.

His arrival comes with an opportunity to advance cooperation between the two countries across areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, education, culture, climate action and people-to-people exchanges.
