RAWALPINDI, Friday, May 30, 2025 : Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Friday visited the Command and Staff College in Quetta, where he addressed student officers and faculty members, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to defend the country against all forms of aggression and terrorism.
During his address, the COAS paid tribute to the martyrs of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, expressing solidarity with their families. He hailed the operation as a symbol of national unity and resilience, stating that “under national leadership, the people of Pakistan became a wall of steel for the defence of the motherland.”
Praising the professionalism and dedication of the Pakistan Armed Forces, Field Marshal Munir termed the success of Marka-e-Haq as a manifestation of the country’s collective resolve and the synergy between all elements of national power, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Commenting on the evolving global and regional security environment, the COAS warned of India’s increasing inclination towards unprovoked military actions, describing it as a serious threat to regional peace. He reiterated that Pakistan would never be coerced and remains fully capable of responding across the entire spectrum of conflict.
Field Marshal Munir also underscored the importance of a peaceful and just resolution of the longstanding Kashmir dispute in line with international law and United Nations resolutions. He warned against what he termed as India’s “hydro-terrorism,” calling it illegal and destabilizing for the region’s strategic balance.
Highlighting India’s role in sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan, the Army Chief said the country’s counter-terrorism campaign had been reinvigorated and would be taken to its logical conclusion. He expressed confidence in the nation’s determination to eradicate terrorism in all its forms.
Addressing the young military leadership in the making, the COAS urged student officers to perform their duties with dedication, innovation, and clarity of purpose. “Training must reflect not only the current realities but also prepare us for the future battlefield—one that demands agility, innovation, and unwavering resolve,” he said.
He commended the Command and Staff College Quetta for its critical role in grooming future military leaders and fostering a culture of strategic thinking and professional excellence.
Earlier, upon arrival in Quetta, Field Marshal Munir was received by Commander Quetta Corps and the Commandant of the Command and Staff College.
