JEDDAH, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said he held a “warm and constructive” meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Jeddah, reaffirming strong bilateral ties and discussing ongoing efforts for regional peace.
In a statement, the Prime Minister said he conveyed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom and appreciated its patience and restraint under the Crown Prince’s leadership during challenging times.
He shared recent developments regarding Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, noting that Islamabad had played a role in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as hosting historic peace talks.

The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to continuing its efforts to encourage both Washington and Tehran toward an agreement aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.
He also expressed gratitude to the Saudi Crown Prince for supporting Pakistan’s sincere peace initiatives, describing the discussions as positive and forward-looking.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Saudi Arabia’s consistent support for Pakistan’s economic stability and highlighted the unique defence and security relationship between the two countries.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the Kingdom across multiple sectors.
